New Meltblown Production Lines

Release Date: 04/21/2010

Catbridge Machinery has developed a pair of new meltblown lines offering precision, flexibility, and speed. A compact, innovative “plug and play” BMF line is connection-ready for fast installation and start up. A larger multi-beam system offers impressive throughput numbers and the opportunity to introduce multi-layer meltblown fiber structures into your process. Both lines have a modular design for flexible width configurations and convenient maintenance.

A new meltblown die design provides extremely precise laydown control for basis weight uniformity across the web, fiber size uniformity, porosity, and efficiency in throughput. The ultrafine web fibers are ideal for high-performance filters as well as applications including wipes and hygiene products. Technologies include complete closed-loop process control with trending and data logging as well as a two-axis vacuum roll variable that expands the range for experimenting with new processes.

The Catbridge meltblown lines offer an affordable way to add easily configurable production capacity. The compact line also works well as a pilot line for fine-tuning new products and processes, increasing quality and efficiency. A fully functional lab line is currently running at Catbridge’s Parsippany, New Jersey headquarters and is available for customer trials. The new meltblown lines complement Catbridge’s existing downstream nonwovens converting machinery including continuous winders, slitter rewinders, spray and ultrasonic laminating lines, and perforators.
